Audit Builder

The audit builder turns raw crawl data into structured, client-ready documents. Instead of copying data into Google Docs or Slides, you build reports directly inside Crawltable.

Creating an audit

1. Open a completed crawl
2. Click New Audit in the toolbar
3. Choose a template or start from scratch

The editor opens with your crawl data available as dynamic blocks. You write the narrative, and Crawltable fills in the data.

Dynamic data blocks

Data blocks are the core of the audit builder. They pull live data from your crawl and stay in sync. Available block types:

• Summary stats — total pages, indexable pages, average load time, issue counts
• Data tables — filterable tables showing specific subsets of your crawl (e.g. all 404 pages, all pages missing H1s)
• Issue lists — prioritized lists of issues with severity, affected URLs, and recommended fixes
• Charts — visual breakdowns of status codes, content types, or custom metrics

When you re-run a crawl, your audit blocks update automatically with the new data.

AI-assisted writing

The audit builder includes AI writing assistance:

• Section generation — describe what you want to cover and AI drafts the section
• Issue explanations — auto-generate plain-language explanations of technical issues for non-technical stakeholders
• Recommendations — generate actionable fix suggestions based on the specific issues found

All AI-generated content is editable. Use it as a starting point and refine to match your voice.

Exporting

Export your finished audit as:

• PDF — polished, print-ready document
• Markdown — for pasting into other tools
• HTML — shareable web page with a unique link

Exports include all data tables, charts, and formatting. No manual reformatting needed.
